After ten years of a remarkable culinary and human adventure, La Scène Thélème is closing its doors for good. Jean-Marie Gurné, its founder, looks back on this journey and thanks everyone who helped make it possible.

August 25 was meant to mark our return after a few weeks of summer closure. Instead, it marks the end of the La Scène Thélème adventure.

When I created this restaurant in 2016, I was fulfilling a dream I had carried with me for many years: to create a place where people would feel at ease, a warm and welcoming place where gastronomy, pleasure and the art of hospitality could fully express themselves.

For nearly ten years, La Scène Thélème was all of that, and so much more.

Of course, I would have liked to write a different ending. But as we close our doors for the final time, what I want to remember above all are the encounters, the emotions and all the moments we shared on rue Troyon.

I would like to thank the chefs who brought this restaurant to life, and all the teams who worked alongside them, both in the kitchen and front of house. Each of them, in their own way, helped shape the identity of La Scène Thélème.

A special thought goes to Rudy Langlais, who took over the kitchen in 2023 and, with great talent, wrote the final chapters of our story while retaining our Michelin star. Today, you are a finalist in the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France competition — a thoroughly deserved achievement, and a journey I sincerely hope will lead you to success.

I would also like to thank everyone who, over the years, contributed to this adventure.

And above all, thank you to you, our guests. To those who discovered us for just one evening, and to those who returned, sometimes many times. Thank you for walking through our doors and choosing to spend a few hours with us around our tables.

La Scène Thélème closes its doors today, but I will always cherish the memories of this adventure and of everyone who made it possible.
